In an emergency the strong metal hook of the Kletterfix fire escape ladder is hooked over the railing of a balcony (max diam 70mm) or over a special wall-mounted steel bar attached permanently underneath or above the window. This bar takes very little space to install and is safely fitted to the wall with strong screws (provided). Please note that the bar is sold as a separate item.
