FlareSafe weighs only 230 grams (8 ounces approx.) and uses the latest LED technology
to ensure that you are carrying the most reliable personal safety device available.
FlareSafe comes supplied with batteries, a lanyard (which you use to hang up
the unit when using it as a smoke detector) and a three-year guarantee. The FlareSafe
is also water-resistant and made of military-grade plastics.
FlareSafe uses a specially-designed optical system to detect smoke. The smoke
detector works when you arm the unit. To arm FlareSafe, simply twist the plastic
cap at the back-end of the unit. This will pop up, exposing the detector underneath
the cap. At the same time, you will hear a single BEEP sound – that tells you
the unit is armed.
When smoke enters the detector, the piercing siren on FlareSafe will sound and
the torch light will automatically switch on. This allows you to immediately see
the unit, grab it, and use the torch to find your way out.
To turn off the siren, twist the rear cap and push it back into place. The torch
will remain on until you turn it off separately.
This devise is not classified as a smoke alarm in accordance with BS 5446 pt1.
However, the main features, as sensitivity and function have been independently
assessed and conform to BS 5446 pt1. |
