Smoking Ban
Smoking Ban - Are you prepared?
The Health Act 2006 implements a workplace smoking ban in England Wales and Northern Ireland.
The act lays down duties requiring:
- Smoke free premises to display no smoking sign
- Any person in control of the management of smoke-free premises “to cause a person there to stop smoking” and
- All persons not to smoke on smoke-free premises
This legislation requires the display of signage at the entrance of premises where smoking is not permitted so that employees, visitors and customers are aware of the ban.
The ban is already in force in Scotland, Wales (2 nd April 2007), Northern Ireland (30 th April 2007) and is now enforced in England since 1 st July 2007.
PPE-Safety has a wide range of 'no smoking' signage to help you meet these needs and we are also able to offer a wide range of cigarette bins and smoking shelters which will help to keep your premises tidy and offer an area where employees are permitted to smoke.
