The Banks permanently installed fire escape ladder is a quality, easy to use rope ladder that can be easily deployed even by children, and can be descended, in safety, by even the most nervous individual. Banks escape ladders satisfy the requirement for means of permanent, alternative escape and are suited for offices and hotels as well as private properties.
When not in use, this fire escape ladder sits in a small, neat white box, permanently secured to the wall underneath the window sill. To use the ladder in an emergency, simply pull the cover towards you and throw the unit out of the window - the weight of the cover will deploy the ladder to its full length. You can install the ladder either directly underneath the window sill or below a radiators.
The ladder rope is fire retardant in a florescent colour, ensuring good visibility in low light situations. The plastic rungs are flame-retardant and feature ribbed anti-slip rungs with anti-rotating stand-offs to allow for hands to grip and to keep ladder off the wall.
The first few rungs are made from rope to ensure that the hands can grip the rung when it presses against the window sill or in the case of a Velux-style window if the rung presses onto the tiles. The bottom rungs are rope to keep the box size to a minimum.
The ladders come with an optional sticker to display the instructions on the box if required.
